Foreign students admitted to an accredited Armenian university or school receive a 1-year temporary residence permit (state fee AMD 105,000), renewable for the duration of studies, based on the admission letter and education contract. Students are exempt from work permits during their studies (currently also for one year after graduation). Citizens of EAEU states (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan) may live and work in Armenia without any work permit under Article 97 of the EAEU Treaty and enter visa-free. Close family members (spouse, child, parent — currently also sibling, grandparent, grandchild) of an Armenian citizen or of a foreigner holding Armenian residence may obtain a 1-year temporary residence permit, renewable.
